Whew!
December 10, 2012

Dreary start, lots of fog. Left Portland at 7am, headed back to Ukiah. We are getting RV serviced tomorrow and Wednesday heading to Winslow AZ to get our car and then towards the East Coast.
We had 2 wonderful visits with family. In Ukiah with my brother Leslie and next in Portland with our daughter Elizabeth. Great memories were made in both places. We have loved this trip and have definitely been bitten by the travel bug. It's been great to have Otis with us. He certainly has been quite the travel dog. Gets out at our gas stops, does his business and he's ready to ride and sleep again. Goooood dog.

Next to visiting, the highlights of the Ukiah/Portland trip have been visiting the Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville, CA. We ate dinner there also, which was amazing. If you are ever in that area, it's worth the trip. They bring food, food and more food to your table. They serve you with such a feeling of family and even serenade you. "When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that a'moire". Of course we all sang along with "Uncle Rico" as he sang to us. Oh and did I mention they bring so much food for you to choose from. Then, seeing Multnomah Falls. Another one of those places that pictures just don't do justice. Nature at its best. I've always wanted to see this waterfall and now one more thing has been marked off the ole bucket list. We walked up to the bridge at the halfway point but chose not to go all the way up. It was so cold!

Our drive has been an experience. Never would have realized how beautiful the good old USA really is. We have traveled through the change of seasons and the beautiful colors that it brings. Through swamp land, mountains that seem to touch the heavens; some woodsy, some barren and some snow capped. Through the desert, huge rivers, flat lands...etc. God bless this land you gave us to live in. God bless the USA!
We have made it back to our "home". We both laughed today when we referred to the RV as home, but it is our 2nd home. A sense of being where all our stuff is. Otis was glad to sleep where he knew his things were. Funny, he crashed after he ate his dinner! We all did. In bed by 7:30 pm! Hahahahahaha. Who does that?
