Leaving California

Up at 5:11 AM.  Michael wanted to be on the road no later than 8:00 AM.
We didn't make that time, but not to far away from the schedule.  We got away at 8:30.

Arizona knows to get the snow plows ready!
Snow starting
We have this hooking up and unplugging down to a science.  Michael's job is everything on the outside, mine is the inside.  As he was putting away our outdoor rug, he found a black widow spider.  We googled it to be sure it really was a black widow and it was. Ooooooooo. So we had a lengthy conversation about said spider. Venom, life expectancy of the spider, treatment if bitten.

Otis' first look at snow
I started our drive today.  Again pretty smooth until we got into Arizona.  Probably around Kingsmann, AZ.  It began to get cloudy.  Not normal clouds.  We were forewarned that we would be hitting snow and that's exactly what started.  By the time we reached Williams, AZ, it was full on snow.  By then Michael was driving.  He said if he had not made a reservation in Williams we would have stopped anyway. 2-4 inches today.  It was freezing.  We were told to buy a snow shovel because there would be places we would have to get out ourselves.  The road was becoming very icy and the wind was blowing so hard.  We were only driving 35-40 mph, but it was/is beautiful!  Gonna wait this out in this wonderland.  What better place to be in a snow storm.  We have bundled up and are in for the night.  Forecasts say another 3-5 inches tonight.  They say Flagstaff is worse.

After getting settled today, we heard the horrible details regarding the CT school shooting. What is happening in this world? These were children! We all really need to keep these families in our prayers and to take time to listen and love our children. You just never know.

     Off to Bed!
