9:00 am and here we go again. We are leaving Bakersfield, CA and headed to Ukiah, CA for a week long rest. It's not raining right now but it's our first day of dreary weather. Looks like the wet stuff finally found us. According to the news channels we are facing a rainy weekend. Wouldn't you know it. Oh well, it could be worse.
Today has been an all together different driving day. Rain, rain and more rain. But....WE HAVE MADE IT! We are in one of our 2 major destinations, Ukiah, CA. Trying to get hooked up at the fairgrounds in Ukiah has been somewhat of an ordeal. I really feel that we have a life patterned after the movie "Vacation". I know everyone has to feel like Chevy Chase at some time. Pouring rain and Michael finds out that the line running to the RV at this park is 50 amps. we don't have a 50 amp plug. We were gonna move to a different spot that we were told did have a 30 amp line. So we are riding in circles trying to find a spot that wasn't under water. A neighbor RV'er saw what was happening and since we don't have a car right now, (remember ours is in Winslow, AZ) he took Michael to find a converter. In the meantime, the battery dies in the RV and Otis and I are sitting in the dark waiting for them to come back. Finally, they drive up, attached a converter to our plug and YAY...we have power!
What next! Tomorrow is a new day. Forecast: More rain.
